"Out of the Shadows" is Scholars's latest film produced for DNDi, marking 20 years of incredible work in their not-for-profit drug development partnerships around the world. Following the initiatives of scientists from Brazil, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Sri Lanka, it portrays their journey to discover, develop, and deliver cures for patients who have lived in society’s shadow with debilitating diseases for far too long.

The film is told by the heroes on the frontline spread across the globe and filmed on location in Sri Lanka, Brazil, Switzerland, South Africa and the Democratic Republic of the Congo by a small crew endeavouring to marry these impactful stories with cinematic excellence.
