Scholars was approached by BBDO Energy to collaborate on bringing the extraordinary story of community health care workers in Rwanda to life.  We decided early on that the success of the film would rest on finding the right women to work with. Therefore, the most critical week of the project was the first one, during which we spent in Rwanda, criss crossing this remarkable country and interviewing potential subjects for the film.  Having found three incredible ladies, we were then joined by the Ogily team for a week long shoot. Scholars combines raw documentary film making with a 'cinematic' approach, where we carefully construct select scenes. For whatever reason, every one we met in Rwanda seemed to have a natural performative ability, which only added to the pleasure of getting to tell this amazing story.
